Judith Ann (Presley) Wilson, 83, of Clinton, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on April 6, 2024, to be with her Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her daughter, Maranda (Mandy) Wilson Pogue and son-in-law Daniel Pogue of San Antonio, Texas, as well as her son, Tyson Voughn Thomas Wilson and daughter-in-law Kaylyn Churchill Wilson of Lakewood, Colorado. Judith was a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Born on December 5, 1940, in Washington, Missouri, to Thelma Garrison Presley and Thomas Earl Presley, Judith spent her early years in Wabash County, Illinois. She later attended school in Savannah, Missouri, where she was also active in the local Methodist Church. In 1958, Judith graduated from Jackson High School in Jackson, Missouri.
Judith pursued higher education at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. After graduation, she taught kindergarten in Endicott, New York. On February 14, 1965, Judith married Bill L. Wilson. The couple welcomed their daughter Mandy in 1967 in Batesville, Arkansas, and their son Tyson in 1970 in Poteau, Oklahoma.
Family was central to Judith’s life. While living in Poteau and Hugo, Oklahoma, she worked from home, cherishing her role as a mother. The family later moved to Purcell, Oklahoma, where Judith taught at Purcell Elementary School. An active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Purcell, she remained deeply involved in her children’s lives, serving as a Girl Scout Leader and supporting their various activities and athletic events.
After her children graduated high school, Judith relocated to Cordell and then to Clinton, Oklahoma. In Clinton, she lovingly cared for her mother, Thelma Presley, and her dear Aunt Esta Viola (Garrison) Degen. Judith had a passion for genealogy and was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She found great joy in helping others trace their family histories and discover the lives of their ancestors.
Judith’s compassion extended to her community, where she often assisted those facing hardships by offering them work in her home and even providing shelter in her garage. She was employed by Action Associates, working with women and children who had experienced domestic violence. Judith was also a devoted member of the Church of God in Clinton, Oklahoma.
Above all, Judith’s love for the Lord was unwavering. Her thirst for the Word of God was insatiable, and she dedicated her life to living out the gospel that had saved and redeemed her. Judith’s legacy of faith, compassion, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Judith was buried in Stafford Cemetary in Stafford, Okla.
