Barbara Jean Craig died surrounded by her family September 3, 2024, in Lexington, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years 11 months 14 days. Memorial Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2024, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Barbara was born September 20, 1937, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Patrick and Violet (Hanson) Duffy.
Her early years were enriched by her upbringing in both Milwaukee and Torrance, California, where she cultivated lifelong values of hard work and family. Throughout her industrious life, Barbara held various positions, ultimately finding fulfillment in her role as a dedicated employee in the meat department at Super C, from which she retired in 1985.
Her compassionate spirit shone brightly during her many years as an in-home caregiver, a vocation that reflected her nurturing nature.
United in marriage to William L. Morrison, Barbara embraced the joys and challenges of motherhood to their six beloved children. Following their separation, she demonstrated remarkable strength and resilience by raising her children single-handedly. In her later years, she found companionship once again with Jerald Craig, and together they created a warm home in Lexington.
Barbara’s passions were as vibrant as her spirit. She delighted in fishing, camping, and dancing, cultivating memories at her cherished lakefront home. In her quiet moments, she found joy in watching old western movies, a nostalgic pastime that offered her comfort.
Above all, family was the cornerstone of Barbara’s life. She cherished the bonds that tied her to her loved ones, relishing the Duffy family reunions and the visits from her dear nieces and nephews who traveled great distances to share time with her. Barbara’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family—a testament to a life lived fully and generously.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Violet Duffy; her daughter, Denise Williams; her daughter, Deborah Morrison; and her son, William Lee “Billy” Morrison.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Walsh and husband, Chris; her daughter, Mary McGee and husband, Ronnie; her daughter, Pam Morrison; her 10 grandchildren; her nine great-grandchildren; her one great-great grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends.
