Eddie Thiessen, 62, of Wayne passed away unexpectedly on September 12, 2024. Edward Lee Thiessen was born on May 23, 1962 in Oklahoma City, the oldest of four children born to Freddie Lee Thiessen and Faye (Hunt) Thiessen. He was primarily raised in Moore, Oklahoma, where he attended school and obtained his GED.
Shortly after, Eddie made the decision to further his education by attending the University of Oklahoma. He continued to take classes throughout the years, and truly was a life-long learner.
Eddie lived in California for a number of years, and it was there that he met the love of his life, Sarah. Eddie and Sarah shared countless memories together that will forever be cherished, especially their daily phone calls. They truly were the perfect match!
Eddie was a quiet and reserved man, but he had a huge heart! He was an avid reader, and as such, was very knowledgeable in just about every subject. His favorite series was “Dark Shadows”; he watched every show and read every book. Although Eddie faced many obstacles in life, he was an overcomer! He faced adversity with grace and determination. Eddie was a one-of-a-kind man who will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by his father, Freddie Thiessen and his grandmother, Janie Hunt.
Eddie is survived by his loving mother, Faye Thiessen of Wayne; sisters, Angel Robertson of Wayne and Sherri Peters and husband, Mike, of Choctaw; brother, Scott Thiessen and wife, Angela, of Seabrook, Texas; four nieces, Kayla, Kirsten, Shaylee and Carlee; three nephews, Tanner, Devin and Parker; several great-nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
