Wayne’s 2024 football homecoming will crown the new king and queen at 6:30 p.m. Friday prior to the gridiron clash between the Bulldogs and the Lexington Bulldogs at 7 p.m.
Queen candidates are Morgan Cross, Cylie Jones, Addison Keeler, Madilyn Sharp and Tory Taylor.
King candidates are Jaxon Dill, Kody Kern, Brandon Logston, Duke Moore, Adolfo Vazquez and Julian Vetor.
The flower girl will be Hadley Osborne while Eli Copass will be the crown bearer.
Cross is the senior daughter of Shea and Nathan Cross. She is captain of the cheer team, is on yearbook and is a STUCO class representative.
Jones is the sophomore daughter of Sherry and Dan Jones. She plays both fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball, is a cheerleader, a member of FFA, the book club and STUCO.
Jones was named an All-Star pitcher last year and has been on the principal’s honor roll.
Keeler is the senior daughter of Brian and Jennifer Keeler. She plays both fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball, basketball, is a member of NHS, the book club, STUCO and serves as Vice President of FFA.
She has been on the superintendent’s honor roll, the OCCC president’s honor roll, has served as class vice president for three years, 2023 fast-pitch most improved player, 2023 fast-pitch athlete of the month and softball spotlight, 2023 rebounder of the year in basketball and 2024 slow-pitch All-Conference.
Sharp is the senior daughter of Brian and Julie Sharp and Lindsay and Mac Baker.
She plays basketball, is in the book club, STUCO and is a football water girl. She earned Defensive Player of the year twice in basketball, is on the principal’s honor roll and was Player of the Month in basketball.
Taylor is the junior daughter of Amanda Dawson and Kory Taylor. She has been co-editor of the yearbook, is in the book club and is attending Mid-America Technology Center.
She has been listed on the principal’s honor roll.
Dill is the senior son of Brad and Ashley Dill. He plays football, basketball and baseball, is in the National Honor Society, is class president, FFA Sentinel and plans to attend Oklahoma State University to become an Ag teacher.
He was named MVP in football, a two-time Offensive Player of the Year in basketball, was the MVP in baseball and Player of the Month and was named a VYPE top 100 in basketball.
Kern is the senior son of Kayla Kern and Scotty Richardson. He plays football, basketball and baseball and is in STUCO.
He was named Player of the Week in The Purcell Register.
Logston is the senior son of Latomya Logston and Steven Smith. He plays football.
Moore is the senior son of Robbie and Sharon Moore. He plays football and baseball and was named Defensive Lineman of the Year, was a Student of the Month and is in NHS.
Vazquez is the senior son of Maria and Jose Vazquez. He plays football, basketball and baseball and is in STUCO.
He was named Athlete of the Month and Defensive Player of the Week.
Vetor is the senior son of Tony Maxye and April Maxye. He plays football and is in STUCO. He was named Player of the Week in football.
Osborne is the five-year-old daughter of Caleb and McKenzie Osborne.
She likes to play outside with her sister and practicing T-ball with her Daddy. She likes going to school to learn new things and play with her friends. She likes to go camping with her family and loves being a big sister to Berkley and Halsey.
Copass is the five-year-old son of Brandon and Lena Copass. He likes playing the drums, riding horses and looking at his one Brahman cow named Brahma Mama.
