Lexington will host Lindsay in a key district gridiron clash Friday night in the 2024 homecoming tilt.

Both teams are 1-1 in district play so the winner Friday night will have a leg up in the scramble for post season  play.

The Leopards will operate out of a multiple spread offensive set and base out a 4-3 on defense.

“The key for us is cutting down on turnovers and controlling the ball,” Lexington Head Coach Keith Bolles said. “We’ve got to play within ourselves and not give up the big play when we are on defense.”

The Bulldogs are coming off a tough loss at the hands of Marlow last week, 34-0.

“It was a tough game,” Bolles said. “We had some chances but two turnovers in the red zone in the first half really hurt us.”

The Outlaws built a 21-0 advantage at halftime.

“Our kids played hard,” Bolles continued. “Marlow is a good, solid football team. Coach Weber does a good job and he has a good staff.”

Bolles praised the play of offensive lineman Wyatt McBride.

“He played really well, especially on offense,” the coach said.

McBride graded out at 74 percent.

“And that’s saying something because Marlow is a very good football team.

“Our goal is to get better and after looking at the film we found some things that we got better at,” Bolles concluded.

The Bulldogs were 8-22 passing for 78 yards.

They rushed for 152 yards as a team.

The top tackles for the ‘Dawgs on defense were Reagan Smith and Kaiden McRavin.
