The underside of the railway bridge over State Highway 59 was struck Thursday afternoon by a passing vehicle.
Highway 59 was narrowed to one lane and eventually closed as crews inspected the damage to the bridge.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the bridge left the scene before authorities could identify anyone, according to McClain County Sheriff Landy Offolter.
