Lexington’s 2024 homecoming coronation will be held Friday night at 6:30 prior to the Bulldogs squaring off with the Lindsay Leopards on the gridiron.

Queen candidates include Teegan Reed, Chasity Chandler, Itzel Nunez, Briana Tarp, Savannah Kaye Warren, Faith Humbolt, Aspen Landers and Baylee Rillema.

King candidates include Reagan Smith, Elijah Pearman, Spencer Vanoostrum, Dax Beason, Klauen Shird, Jalen Idlett, Jace Johnson and David Ocampo.

The crown bearers are Elias and Crew Doty while Sage Spears will serve as the flower girl.

Representing cheer, Reed is the daughter of Jake and Morgan Reed.

She is in the National Honor Society, Gifted and Talented, superintendent’s honor roll all four years and is a member of the Oklahoma High School Honor Society.

Reed will be attending the University of Central Oklahoma majoring in criminal justice and forensic investigations.

After graduation from UCO, she intends to transfer to the University of Oklahoma school of law. Her favorite quote is “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans,” John Lennon.

Representing archery, Chandler is the daughter of Dan and Mary Chandler.

She is a three time qualifier and national qualifier for archery. She is a member of the National Honor Society.

Other activities include band, archery and medical office assistant class at MATC.

“I want to continue my career as a medical assistant and eventually pursue a career in phlebotomy.

Her favorite quote is, “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them,” Walt Disney.

Representing band, Nunez is the daughter of Yolanda and Ceferino Flores.

She is on the principal’s and superintendent’s honor roll, in Gifted and Talented and is a member of NHS.

She plans to go to college and earn a nursing degree. Her favorite quote, “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”

Representing show choir, Tarp is the daughter of Sabrina and Johnathan Tarp.

She has been on the principal’s honor roll, is a member of show choir, attends MATC, is in FCCLA, student council, cheer and cross country.

She plans to attend college to earn a nursing degree.

“If you don’t leave the past in the past, it will destroy your future. Look what’s in front of you, not what yesterday took away. The best is yet to come,” George Strait.

Representing FCCLA, Warren is the daughter of Susan and Joe Warren.

She is Southern Accents Dance captain, president of show choir, is in Cleveland County 4-H, vice president of FCCLA and secretary of STUCO.

She plans to ultimately live out my NCIS dreams by attending UCO for a doctorate degree in forensic psychology with a double major in forensic investigations, work for the FBI as a CSI/criminal profiler.

Representing cross country, Humbolt is the daughter of Angela and Ivan Humbolt.

She is in the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Gifted and Talented and has been on the principal’s and superintendent’s honor roll.

She wants to attend law school and become a real estate lawyer. She wants to be on “The Bachelorette” and move away.

“My only rules are never pass a mirror without looking in it. Live every day like it’s your birthday and don’t be boring,” Paris Hilton.

Representing MATC, Landers is the daughter of Mark and Jenny Landers.

She has been on the principal’s honor roll and has multiple FFA honors. She serves as the MATC medical office assistant.

She plans to attend Rose State College and go into radiology.

Representing fast-pitch, Rillema is the daughter of Lisa Rillema.

She has been named All-Conference in both slow-pitch and fast-pitch, All District in fast-pitch outfielder and is in NHS and NTHS.

Other activities include cosmetology, slow-pitch and travel ball. She plans to continue her education and become a Registered Nurse.

Representing show choir, Smith is the son of Jimmy and Sabrina Smith.

He is in the National Honor Society, a member of the Ecolda Honor Choir, a four-year captain of the LHS show choir. He plays football, basketball,vocal, show choir and is in drama.

He plans to attend Oklahoma University to study business and marketing.

“Last name ever first name greatest,” Aubrey Drake Graham.

Representing cross country, Pearman is the son of Jeremy and Leslie Pearman.

He qualified for state in cross country the last three years, has qualified for state track the last two years in the 400 and 200 meters and is a state qualifier for powerlifting.

He is a member of the National Honor Society and is an active member of the Highland Church of Christ in Tecumseh participating in the lads to leaders program. He is in cross country, basketball, track and show choir. He plans to go to college for running and become an anesthesiologist.

“Eat health, stay fit, still die.”

Representing football, Vanoostrum is the son of Dylan and Sydnee Vanoostrum.

He has been on the superintendent’s and principal’s honor roll throughout high school. He plays football and has been a part of Bulldog Media. He plans to go to college after high school.

“Sunny days wouldn’t be special if it wasn’t for rain. Joy wouldn’t feel so good if it wasn’t for pain,” 50 Cent.

Representing archery, Beason is the son of Ritchie and Megan Beason.

He qualified for state golf as a junior, was archery state champion his freshman and junior year and was crowned national archery champion as a junior. He is a member of the MATC National Honor Society and was the spelling bee champion in second and fourth grades.

He has been on the fishing and archery teams for four years, the combination welding program at MATC for two years, a two-year member of the golf team and is a member of the First Baptist Church youth group.

His future plans have “no real direction.”

“I don’t have any great skills. You know, like nunchuck skills, bow hunting skills, computer hacking skills. Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills,” Napoleon Dynamite.

Representing powerlifting, Shird is the son of Eunez Shird.

He was the powerlifting MVP, is a two-time state qualifier, current regional champion and finished sixth in the state for 2024.

He plays football, track and goes to MATC. He is a second year CNC machinist and in Gifted and Talented.

He plans to attend college and study mechanical engineering and pursue a job in that field.

“It’s not always about focusing on your mistakes but on the lessons learned from them.”

Representing powerlifting, Idlett is the son of Jennie Idlett.

He is on the track team, golf team, in STUCO and FCCLA.

His future plans are to work for Jostens Photography then one day get married and have kids.

“It’s fine. I’m fine. Everything is fine.”

Representing MATC criminal justice, Johnson is the son of Joshua and Sheree Johnson.

He has been on the principal’s and superintendent’s honor rolls, is in the MATC National Honor Society and the National Honor Society. He has lettered in football and powerlifting and graduated from the 50th Oklahoma Highway Patrol Cadet Academy this past summer. He is also in Gifted and Talented.

He plans to join the Oklahoma Army National Guard and then the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

“If it doesn’t challenge you it won’t change you.”

Representing band, Ocampo is the son of Teresa and Juan Ocampo.

He is in NHS, NTHS and Gifted and Talented and is in the band.

He plans to attend Redlands Junior College.

“I can do all through Him that gives me strength,” Philippians 4:13.

Elias and Crew are the sons of Terrence and Devin Doty. They are representing Waters Electric.

Both play T-ball, wrestle and play basketball.

Elias wants to be a firefighter and have a dalmatian named Sparky while Crew wants to work as an electrician like his dad at his company.

Spears is the daughter of Ryan and Christa Spears.

She enjoys riding horses and checking cows with her dad. She also shows goats with her brother. She is a member of Spring Hill Freewill Baptist Church, is “Boss Lady” of the Ag Booster Club and a 4-H Clover Bud.

Sage wants to be a large animal veterinarian and a cowgirl.
