Lexington’s Bulldogs jump from the frying pan into the fire as they host the always powerful Davis Wolves Friday night at 7 p.m. at Floyd West Field.
The Wolves operate out of the wishbone on offense and base out of a 3-4 on defense.
“They will bring lots of option and power football on offense,” Lexington Head Coach Sean Guerra reports.
“On defense they like to move their line around,” Guerra noted.
Guerra reports the number one key for his Bulldogs is to match Davis’ physicality.
“We’ve got to go make football plays,” he said. “We’re in position a lot of times and just don’t execute and take care of business.”
Lexington lost on the road last week to Dibble, 65-0.
Even with the lopsided loss, Guerra said sophomore Jaxon Torres played a whale of a football game.
“With all the chaos this year, Jaxon Torres has been a shining example showing the ability to make plays both on offense and defense,” Guerra said. “He’s become the team leader.”
There were no nominations for Player of the Week.
