Funeral services for Stan Tolle, 78, of Watonga were held February 13, 2024 at the Oasis Church in Watonga. Interment was at the Aline Star Cemetery in Aline, Okla., under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mr. Tolle passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024.

Stanley Leonard Tolle was born September 9, 1945 in Cherokee, Okla., the older of two sons born to Leonard Theodore Tolle and Pauline (McCray) Tolle. He was raised in Aline and attended school there, graduating with the Blue Birds Class of 1964.

As a young man, he lost his mother, but gained another when his father married Joan, and two families joined as one. He joined the United States Army, and served his country proudly during Vietnam.

He was the proud father of two children, son Mike and daughter Amy. He was a hard worker and a great provider, and lived each day for his kids.

He worked for U.S. Gypsum in Southard for more than 36 years, retiring as a supervisor. He was known by some as “TACK” and some as “Stan the Man,” but his absolute favorite was  “Papa Stan.” He was goofy and loved a good laugh, and his smile could light up the room. He loved sports of all kinds, but cheered hard for his OSU Cowboys and the OKC Thunder. He loved a good Hallmark movie and never missed  a chance for a card game of Pitch.

Stan had a sweet spirit, lived a simple life and believed in the good of others. He was a man of great faith, and lived each day with purpose. He was the best dad, Papa, brother, uncle and a true friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Leonard Tolle, Pauline Tolle and Joan Tolle and his sister, Pam McEachern.

He is survived by his children, son, Mike Tolle and wife, Amy, of Purcell; daughter, Amy Tolle Crews and husband, Tom, of Watonga; his pride and joy, granddaughters, Kyra Crews Cathey of Watonga, Kylie Tolle Hayes and husband, Dylan, of Ada, Rachel Silvey and husband, Derek, of Billings, Ashley Crews of Watonga, Madisyn Tolle of Purcell and Karlee Grace Tolle of Purcell;  great-grandchildren, Mayzie Darlene, Knox Taylor Wayne, Cullen Ray and RyLynne June; brothers, Steven Tolle and wife, Stefanie, of Hudson, NY, Gary McCray and wife, Lesley, of Broken Arrow and Dr. Greg Tolle and wife, Hadley, of Tulsa; sisters, Phyllis Culliver and husband, Brian, of Elk City, Paula Appleton and husband, Marty, of Alva and Peggy Revercomb and husband, Kyle, of Weatherford, Texas; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
