Charles Sidney Green died October 19, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years 1 month 26 days. A family memorial will be scheduled for a later date, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.
Charles was born August 24, 1940, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Sidney and Wanda (Lindsey) Green.
His journey began in the close-knit community of Ada, where he ultimately graduating from Latta High School around 1958. On a beautiful day in May 1960, Charles was united in marriage with Karly Rae Brashear, and together they celebrated a remarkable 64 years of love and partnership. Their bond was a testament to devotion and mutual respect, nurturing a family built on warmth and togetherness.
For many years, Charles dedicated himself professionally as the meat market manager for Safeway, a role that showcased his strong work ethic and commitment. Following his retirement, he embraced a new challenge as a pharmacy technician at Walmart, where his kindness and helpfulness were felt by many.
Beyond his professional life, Charles had a zest for living that included woodworking, an art that allowed him to craft beautiful pieces from nature’s bounty. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, he found joy in the open road and the thrill of off-road adventures in his Jeep. Travel also beckoned him, offering opportunities to explore new places and create lasting memories.
However, it was in the company of his family, particularly his beloved grandchildren, where Charles truly shone. His love for them was evident in every shared moment, and he cherished the laughter and joy they brought to his life. As we remember Charles, we celebrate a man of integrity, passion, and immense love for his family. His legacy will continue to inspire all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Wanda Green; and his younger brother, Doug Green.
Survivors include his wife, Karly Green; his daughters, Lyna Scarbrough and husband, Tim, and Lisa Gibson and husband, Tony; his grandchildren, Karly Gibson-Alexander and husband, Dale, and Tanner Gibson and wife, Jessy; his great-grandchildren, Aydan, Lexy, Trinity, Wesley, Layne and Wrenley; and numerous other relatives and friends.
