Funeral services for Charlie Goss, 78, of Edmond, formerly of Lexington, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2024 at the Lexington First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Lexington Cemetery under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell.
Mr. Goss passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
Charles Wayne Goss was born October 4, 1946 in Brownfield, Texas, the fourth of six children born to Truman Hardy Goss and Dorothy Ann (Holleman) Goss.
He was raised primarily in Seminole, Texas, where he attended school. His sister introduced him to a young lady named Martha Carolyn Quillin, and he knew she was the one. On June 17, 1966, Charlie and Carolyn were married at the Fairview Baptist Church in Seminole. They first made their home in Seminole, later settling in Lexington. Together they raised three daughters, Shelly, Tyra and Rachel.
Charlie drove a truck for many years, both for Braums and MBM. He really was a jack of all trades, and his entrepreneurial spirit kept him busy. He worked as a welder and built fences, and more recently as a Mechanic Area Supervisor for Heartland Landscape Group in Edmond.
Away from work, Charlie enjoyed anything to do with horses, and he looked forward to pulling his chuck wagon at area festivals and on trail rides. He was a natural born salesman, and always trading and looking for a deal. He cherished Carolyn, his girls and especially his grandchildren. He was a man of great faith and longtime member of the Lexington First Baptist Church. He will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Dorothy Goss and his sister, Juanita Middleton.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Carolyn of the home; daughters, Shelly Whitekiller (Jon) of Norman, Tyra Weston (David) of Moore and Rachel Stiger (Matthew) of Edmond; brother, Doyle Goss (Ida Fay) of Seminole, Texas; sisters, Geneva Belongia of Post, Texas, Joyce McNew (Denton) of Andrews, Texas, and Linda Allen of Jay, Okla.; his pride and joy, grandchildren, Katelyn Callian (Tim) of San Diego, Calif., Cole Whitekiller (Katie) of San Diego, Calif., Tanner Weston (Dalee) of Ada, Okla., Savana Spratt (Jeremy) of Norman, Sela Weston of Stillwater, Avery Samuel of Edmond, Parker Stiger of Edmond and Jackson Stiger of Edmond and two great-grandchildren, August and Archer; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
