Yvonne was born January 26, 1939, in Stockton, California, to Roy and Vilma McCleery. She spent her formative years in Vici, Oklahoma, graduating from Vici High School in 1957. Eager to further her education, Yvonne attended Bethany Nazarene College where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 1961.

A testament to her unwavering commitment to education and nurturing young minds, Yvonne dedicated many years of her life as an elementary school teacher. Her passion for teaching left an indelible mark on countless students throughout her career until her well-deserved retirement in 1992.

Yvonne found love and companionship in the arms of David Crenshaw, whom she wed in 1974 in Woodward, Oklahoma. Together, they shared a bond fortified by love and mutual respect.

Beyond her professional accomplishments and enduring marriage, Yvonne possessed an array of hobbies and passions that brought her immense joy. She found solace in the gentle artistry of sewing, quilting and embroidery. A devoted reader, she would often find herself enraptured by the written word. Yvonne’s green thumb was well-known among her loved ones, as she tended to her flower and vegetable gardens with great care, trying to master snow peas.

Of all the joys life bestowed upon Yvonne, none were as cherished as the time she spent with her beloved family. Every moment shared with her children and grandchildren was a treasure to be cherished for eternity. A woman of faith, Yvonne’s spiritual journey led her to become an esteemed member of the Newcastle First Baptist Church.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Vilma McCleery; her daughter, Jana DeAnn Crenshaw Vaught; her sisters, Carolyn Hartzell and Billie File; and her brothers, Leroy McCleery and Ron McCleery.
