OBN’s big marijuana bust

Over 9,000 plants and 246 pounds of packaged drug taken

A fake Amazon van lead Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics Agents to sizing a huge amount of marijuana headed for Pennsylvania Monday.

Monday morning Agents with the OBNs’ Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) served a search warrant at Bright Stones LLC at 170th and Council Road south of Dibble, according to McClain County Sheriff Landy Offolter.

It was part of an ongoing investigation into illegal activity involving this marijuana growing facility.

OBN Spokesman Mark Woodward reported the investigation began in January of 2024 when Missouri State Police stopped a fake Amazon van for several traffic violations after entering Missouri from Oklahoma.

“A search of the van uncovered 246 pounds of packaged marijuana which had recently been picked up at the location. OBN began an investigation into this black-market shipment and discovered Bright Stones LLC had obtained its license by fraud, using a ‘straw ownership’ scheme. The main target of this investigation has been linked to several other illegal marijuana operations in Oklahoma.” Woodward said.

OBN MET Agents seized 9,143 marijuana plants and 215 pounds of processed marijuana at Bright Stones LLC.

Arrests are pending as this investigation continues. OBN is grateful to the McClain County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with the search warrant.

Since 2021, OBN’s Marijuana Enforcement Teams (MET) have shut down over 3,000 marijuana grows, arrested over 300 individuals and seized over one million pounds of marijuana as part of criminal investigations for operating with a license obtained by fraud and/or growing for the out-of-state black market.

“As a result of these OBN enforcement efforts, Oklahoma’s medical marijuana program has seen a drastic reduction in the number of criminal organizations operating illegal farms in Oklahoma. OBN registrations for growers dropped from 9,400 in 2021, to 6,400 in 2022 and today that number is down to approximately 3,200,”  according to OBN Director Donnie Anderson.

Anyone with information about criminal drug activity can anonymously DM details to OBN via Facebook or call the OBN tip-line at 1-800-522-8031.

“A joint effort has shut down a multi-state illegal grow operation that was based out of McClain County,” Offolter said.

“We would like to thank OBN Director Donnie Anderson and his team along with District 3 Commissioner Terry Daniels and his team for assisting in the labor intensive removal of the illegal product,” the sheriff said.

He said dump trucks from McClain County District 3 were used to haul the illegal marijuana to the yard for destruction.
