Funeral services for Tom Ross, 76, of Washington were held Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at the Washington Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mr. Ross  passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024.

Thomas “Tom” Maron Ross was born on October 8, 1947 in Dallas, Oregon, the third of six children born to Elmer Maron Ross and Emma Christene (Dean) Ross.

When Tom was just two weeks old, the Ross family made the move from Oregon to Purcell, Oklahoma. He was primarily raised in Purcell where he attended Purcell Public Schools up until the 11th grade.

In 1966, he met a young woman named Skeeter, and together they had two beautiful children, Roger and Misty.

Tom was driven and dedicated to working hard every single day. He worked on and off as a service technician at Bacon’s Texaco for nearly 25 years, while working several odd jobs in between. Tom also worked in the RV industry for an additional 10 years before he eventually retired at the age of 66.

In his free time, Tom enjoyed fishing, camping, and mowing his yard. A little later in life, Tom reconnected with a woman named, Brenda Kay Wilson. The two had known each other forever, and finally decided to build a life together. Tom and Brenda moved to Washington, Oklahoma, where they made their home. The couple shared 35 wonderful years together, with many memories to last a lifetime.

Tom was a quiet, selfless man with a gentle personality. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need! He was also very independent and could be strong-willed at times. More than anything, Tom was a family man. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and 2 fur babies, Boomer and Dixie. He truly cherished every moment with them. Tom was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a true friend. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Emma Ross; son, Roger Ross and two grandchildren, Matt Ross and Josh Lewis.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Ross of the home; daughter, Misty Madden and husband, Nathan, of Purcell; step-children, Beth Zinn and husband, Robert, of New Mexico, Tonya Richman and husband, Wayne, of Norman, Kim Usey and husband, Raymon, of Slaughterville and Ray Dean and wife, Amy, of Norman; brothers, Albert Huskinsen of Texas, Jimmy Ross and wife, Nila, of Norman, Billy Ross of Noble and Bobby Ross of Washington; sister, Barbara Huskinsen of California; 18 grandchildren, Tracy, Blake, Blacha, Sarha, Venessa, Stephanie, Shannon, Ashley, Timothy, Casey, Ranee, James, Kyle, Joseph, Andrea, Chelsea, Brock, and Christa; 56 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
