Funeral services for Peggy Haley, 75, of Lexington were held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at the Lexington Cemetery under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mrs. Haley passed away at her home on January 16, 2024.

Peggy Lou Kelley was born to Arlis Lee Kelley and Uarda Mae Kelley (Lane) on December 6, 1948 in Lexington.

Peggy’s father was a pipeline worker, so most of her childhood was spent on the move, always going wherever work may lead him. Some of her favorite stops along the way included Idaho, West Virginia, and the Black Hills of South Dakota. She eventually made her way back to Lexington, where she finished high school and graduated with the Bulldog class of 1967.

Peggy was blessed with two children, and she spent her time caring for them and her home in Norman. Peggy and her husband, Robert, moved back to Lexington, started a peach orchard, and successfully ran Haley’s Peach Farm for a number of years. She also helped her husband work their cattle and provided daily care for the livestock.

In retirement, Peggy loved traveling with family and friends in their RV, having adventures and making memories. She’ll always be remembered for her fried chicken, her feisty attitude, and her way with hummingbirds which earned her the title “Hummingbird Whisperer.”

The light of her life was being a mother and nana to her family, who will miss her deeply.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Arlis and Uarda Mae Kelley. Her sisters Betty Kelley and Patricia Parker, and her husband Robert Haley.

She is survived by her brother, Arlin “Buster” Kelley of Moore; her children, Jeff Farley and wife, Jennifer, of Lexington and Susan Phelps of Lexington; her grandchildren, Alexandria Rasor and husband, Alexander, John Dean and wife, Anna, Joshua Farley and wife, Cassidy, Mikayla Farley and fiancé, Jake Dyer, and Kendall Phelps and fiancé, Jaycie Brown. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren Bryson, Faith, Colton, Scarlett, Jack, and Miles and her best friend of 60+ years, Mary Gay Newville and her husband, Mike.
