For the first time in the history of Lexington wrestling, a dual was held on Floyd West Field.
The 3A Lexington Bulldogs faced off in an exhibition match against the 4A Newcastle Racers.
Crease Hamblin at 138 pound, Dalton Matthews 170 pound, Victor Rosales at 160, Cillee Turner 153 for the Lady Bulldogs and Tristan Buchanon 113 pounds junior high, all recorded wins for the Bulldogs.
“It was a great day of wrestling and great atmosphere,” head coach Jared Garrett said. “Having a match on the football field was something I have wanted to do ever since I saw Iowa University do it a few years back.
“A warm day in December helped make it happen,” he concluded.
The Bulldogs will travel to Weatherford Friday, for the Max Dippel Tournament.
