Coach Cole Sharp’s Dragons will take their show on the road this weekend when they play in the Regional Tournament at Elk City.

Purcell is ticketed to open the tournament at 11 a.m. today (Thursday) against McLoud.

They will turn around and square off with Elk City at 1:30 p.m.

The Elks and McLoud are to play at 4 p.m.

The double elimination tournament runs through Friday.

To close out the regular season, Purcell pinned a 7-3 loss on the Oklahoma City Knights on Senior Night.

Parker Page and Kash Knowles combined to toss a six hitter while Purcell was pounding out 11 hits of their own.

The Knights actually struck first pushing across a pair of runs in the first inning but Purcell bounced back in the bottom of the fifth for seven.

Deaken Dobbins had a double in a 2-4 performance at the plate with an RBI..

Page, Cole Smedley and Carter Goldston all had two hits in the game.

Boston Knowles and Casey Billingsley both zinged triples in the contest.

Page started the game on the bump with Knowles getting the win and the save.

“Parker I thought started slowly but got in groove and started to compete and threw strikes,” Sharp said.

Sharp said the Dragon sticks were cold for the first three innings but came alive in the last three frames.

“I was proud of our kids battling back after being down 2-0 through 4 innings and coming back and taking the lead and closing out the game on a good note and for these seniors to finish out their last home game with a win,” the coach concluded.
