The Lexington Lady Bulldogs were busy last week. From Tuesday through Friday, they played seven games, all against ranked opponents.

Thursday and Friday they were in Oklahoma City for the Hall of Fame Spring Showdown. The Lady ‘Dawgs dropped their two games on Thursday. Southmoore (6A #1) beat Lexington 13-2 then 6A #5 Westmoore beat Lexington 4-2.

On Friday, Lexington lost to Dale (4A #1) 21-3, beat Bixby (6A #10) 13-12, then fell to Cache (5A #4) 17-7.

Dale

Lexington scored three runs on seven hits in their lopsided loss to Dale.

Brodie Anderson had a two-run home run in the first inning to open scoring.

But, Dale answered in the second with five runs and didn’t look back. They added 10 in the third and six in the fourth.

Abi Clifton, Marisa Northrup, Anderson, Marleigh Givens, Jocelyn Senn, Hannah Garrett and Cilee Turner each had a hit.

Bixby

Thanks to Senn’s walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning, Lexington got the 13-12 win over Bixby.

Lexington got on the board in the bottom of the first inning with six runs. Anderson homered to score three runs, Givens had a two-run home run and Garrett hit into a double play that scored one run.

They scored three more in the second.

Bixy began to mount a comeback with two runs in the third and six in the fourth.

The Lady ‘Dawgs were up 10-8 going into the seventh inning. Bixby scored four to take a 12-10 lead into the final half inning.

Lexington scored three, including Senn’s walk off, to win the game.

Baylee Rillema was 5-5 at the plate with two RBIs. Anderson and Givens were both 4-4 at the plate.

In all, the Lady Bulldogs collected 23 hits and 10 RBIs in the win.

Cache

Anderson’s bat was hot again in Lexington’s 17-7 loss to Cache. She went 3-3 at the plate with home runs in the third and fifth innings to score five runs. Northrup, Clifton, Kiely Givens and Senn each had a hit to round out Lexington’s offense.

It was a tight game through two innings, with the score tied 2-2. But, Cache broke it open with seven runs in the third and six more in the fourth inning. They added two runs in the fifth.

Lexington scored two runs in the third and three in the fifth, but it wasn’t enough to match Cache’s offensive onslaught.

Last Tuesday they split their games at Washington – a 12-0 win over Harrah (5A #19) and an 11-0 loss to Washington (5A #3).

Lexington was scheduled to host Plainview on Tuesday and be in the Washington tournament on Thursday (today).
