Two local graduates competed in the 2025 National Junior College Athletics Association DI World Series in Yuma, Ariz.

Lauren Holmes is a 2023 graduate of Purcell. Skylar Wells is a 2023 graduate of Washington.

Both girls play for the Rose State Raiders.

Rose State won their first two games in the tournament.

They defeated No. 15 Lake Land College 3-1 in eight innings.

They then beat McLennan Community College 6-4.

But they were defeated by Gaston College (11-1) and Crowder College (4-1).
