Starting at 11 a.m. and running all day and into the night will be the third annual Heart of Oklahoma Music Festival.
The event will bring a full day of live music, food, shopping and community celebration to downtown Purcell.
Admission is free and Little Texas will headline this year’s event at 7 p.m.
The lineup also includes Logan Mac, an up-and-coming Red Dirt country singer-songwriter, the TJ Todd Band, the Brandon Butler Band and the Gary Gibson Band.
Several new food trucks will join the festival this year.
“This is our third year for the Heart of Oklahoma Music Festival and we’re proud of how far it has come and the direction it’s going,” Event Director Serena Melton said.
“The support we’ve received from our local businesses and the community has been incredible. We couldn’t do this without them.”
A limited number of T-shirts will be available at the festival.
The festival also gives visitors a reason to explore Purcell’s shops and restaurants while they are downtown.
“Events like this bring people into Purcell who may be visiting for the first time,” said Elisabeth Baker, Executive Director of the Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce. “When they eat at a local restaurant, shop downtown or decide to come back another day, that supports our businesses and brings more commerce into our community. That’s an important part of what this festival can do for Purcell.”
“But honestly, this festival is about more than just the music. It’s about Purcell,” Melton confirmed. “We want people to experience our town, meet our people, and see everything we have to offer.”
Festival visitors are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs to be more comfortable while enjoying the music.
