Playoff football Friday night

Lexington Head Coach Keith Bolles credits his senior class for changing the culture of playoff football for the Bulldogs.

“I’m proud of this group of seniors,” Bolles said. “They set a goal of making the playoffs and now instead of setting a goal of making the playoffs now we expect to be in the playoffs.

“I am very pleased and happy for what they have done for our program. It’s week 11 and we’re still practicing and we’re happy and excited about being in the playoffs,” Bolles said.

He said his club is putting last week’s 49-7 loss at Holdenville behind them and looking forward to going to Washington Friday night.

Kickoff for the game at Reed Field is set for 7 p.m.

“They are a very good football team,” Bolles says of the Warriors. They’ve got a very good offense, a very good defense and special teams. They are an all-around good team that is very multiple on offense.

“They are very multiple on offense,” Bolles continued. “They can go empty backfield or have two tight ends. They pretty much do it all.”

Sophomore Cameron Weatherford scored Lexington’s touchdown in the Holdenville loss.

“It was a one-yard run following a spectacular one-handed catch by Skylar Rollins,” Bolles said.
