Lexington quarterback Cayden Krueger ran for a pair of touchdowns and threw for another in a 29-0 shutout victory at Dickson last Friday night.
Krueger scored on runs of 10 and four yards and tossed a 16-yard touchdown pass to Gavrie Williams. Cameron Weatherford had a four-yard touchdown run and also ran in a two-point point after touchdown.
Head coach Keith Bolles praised the play of his offensive line in the victory.
The unit of Aiden Batterton, Cale Garver, Issac Martin and Wyatt McBride graded out as a whole at 70 percent in the Dickson victory.
“That’s the highest we’ve ever had,” assistant coach Sean Guerra said.
Obviously, the defense played well at Dickson with Williams recovering a fumble, Dalton Brewer picking off a Comet pass and Kluen Shird recovering an onside kick.
“Camden Baker had a good game at outside linebacker,” Bolles said. “And, Kaden Mcravin had a good night on PATs and kickoffs.”
Up next is a home game with Marietta for senior night, which begins at 6:30 p.m. kick off for the important district game is set for 7 p.m.
With a Bulldog victory and a Dickson win over Crossings, Lexington will qualify for the playoffs.
“We have to have a little help,” Bolles said. “Dickson has to beat Crossings.”
Assistant coach Kyle Wells said, “Stranger things have happened. That’s why you tee it up.”

Head coach Keith Bolles nominated Gavrie Williams as the Defensive Lineman of the Week. Williams had six tackles against Dickson, one for a loss, had a quarterback sack and recovered a fumble.
Nominated as the Defensive Player of the Week was Buddy Cormany. He posted six tackles including one for a loss, had a quarterback sack and intercepted a Comet pass.
Nominated as the Offensive Player of the Week was Cayden Krueger, who scored three rushing touchdowns.
Getting the nomination as the Offensive Lineman of the Week was Wyatt McBride, who graded out at 83 percent.
