Graveside Funeral Services for Lee Brown, 95, of Purcell were held Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. Services were under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mr. Brown passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020.

Lee Nelvin Brown was born January 26, 1925 in Purcell, the youngest of four sons born to Jake Melvin Brown and Mahalia Ellen (Short) Brown. He was raised in Purcell and attended Purcell Schools.

Lee left school early, and joined the United States Navy. He lied about his age and joined his brothers in serving his country. Lee served proudly, during World War II and Korea. He traveled all over the world with stops in Germany, Italy, Greece, Greenland, France, Turkey, Japan and the Philippines. Lee retired after a very long and distinguished career.

Back home in the states, Lee worked a variety of odd jobs, not so much because he had to, but more so because he needed something to do. He liked to collect stuff, and tinkering on the stuff he collected. He liked watching the history channel and followed sci-fi information closely. Lee enjoyed spending his mornings and evenings watching wildlife, and he particularly followed the deer. He was a very generous person, always willing to help and always meeting the needs of others. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Mahalia Brown; his brothers, Roy, Ira and Guy; nephew, Mike Brown and great-niece, Joanna Brown.

Lee is survived by his sister-in-law, Sharon Brown of Purcell and great-niece, Kathy Brown of Del City and a host of other family and friends.
