Lady Bulldogs sit at 5-0

Hosted Union City Tuesday, at Elmore Thursday

The Wayne Lady Bulldogs were in Bray on Monday where they picked up two wins, moving their season record to 5-0.

They beat Bray-Doyle 15-6 and Central 15-9.

It was an offensive onslaught as the Lady Bulldogs scored 15 runs on 21 hits.

Senior Jordynn Debaets hit for the cycle in the win. She had a home run in the third inning, a triple in the first, a double in the fifth and a single in the fourth.

She had four hits and three ribbies.

Addison Keeler also had four hits and three RBIs in the win.

Audra Watts and Faith Brazell had three hits.

Ava Stottlemyre was in the circle for five innings. She fanned five batters and gave up just one earned run.

Central

The Lady Bronchos jumped out in front from the first inning, scoring three runs. Wayne answered with two runs in the bottom of the first.

Both teams added two runs in the third and one run in the fourth.

Central pushed three more runs across in the top of the fifth inning to lead 9-5.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Wayne flipped the game and scored five runs. Taelyn Ringwald’s two-RBI double was a big catalyst in that inning.

Wayne added five more insurance runs in the sixth and held Central scoreless in the top of the seventh to get the win.

Every Lady Bulldog had a hit in the game, led by Ringwald’s four. Keeler, Debaets, Brazell and Stottlemyre had three each.

Brazell led the team with three RBIs.

Last Friday’s double header with Konawa was canceled due to weather.

Last Thursday, Wayne picked up a 12-0 win over CCS.

Ava Stottlemyre was in the circle. She went three innings and allowed just two hits and fanned three batters.

Wayne collected 14 hits in the win. Audra Watts and Jordynn Debaets led the team with three apiece. Addison Keeler, Faith Brazell and Lily Whitaker each had two hits. Taelyn Ringwald and Brysten Shephard had one hit each.

Wayne was scheduled to host Union City on Tuesday and travel to Elmore on Thursday. where they will play the Badgers and the Konawa Tigers.
