Jeffrey Lee New left us on April 25, 2020 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 61 years 2 months 18 days.

Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Wayne Brown officiating. Interment followed at Hillside Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service. Online condolences may be made at www.wadleysfuneralservice.com.

Jeff was born February 7, 1959 in San Diego, California, to Bobby Lee “Beck”  and Elsie (Bloom) New. He was raised in California before the family moved to Purcell.

Jeff loved everybody, especially his family. He enjoyed working at McDonald’s for the last 20 years, and never met a stranger. Jeff could remember everything he was told or saw; however, he couldn’t keep a secret.

Jeff loved to laugh, and joke around, and was fascinated by construction. He enjoyed looking at blueprints, wearing his hard hat and watching anything being built. Jeff loved oil wells and knew every part, and he knew all the plants and trees.

When he was younger, Jeff was in the Boy Scouts, and liked playing basketball with his brother. He was a Merle Haggard fan, and loved western music. Jeff often went to the Moose Lodge with his parents and listened to the music and loved dancing with the ladies.

He loved the Bible and carrying it around. Jeff loved mountains, especially Mount Miguel in San Diego. He also enjoyed going to Disneyland, and of course his favorite ride was the Matterhorn because it was a mountain.

Jeff loved his family and enjoyed all the people that knew him including his friends at Delta Transit, First American Bank and McDonald’s with Sue Parton.

He made an impact in his community, even with his disability, any way he could for over 20 years. The town of Purcell was very good to him. He never forgot a name or a face and loved his town of Purcell in the Heart of Oklahoma. I want to thank you for caring and knowing Jeff.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Bobby “Beck” New and his sister, Deborah Wheeler.

He is survived by his mother, Elsie New; his brother, James New and wife, Brenda; his nieces, Amanda and her husband, Daniel, Sarah and Mary; his nephew, James New, Jr.; his great-nieces, Aurora, Auraya and Jaiden; his great-nephews, Ethan and Andrew; and numerous aunts and uncles.
