High school graduations are  here!

Purcell graduates Friday, May 17, at 6 p.m. in the Reimer Center at Purcell High School.

Lexington also graduates Friday, May 17, at 8 p.m. at McCasland Fieldhouse on the campus of the University of Oklahoma.

Wayne will hold graduation at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at the D.S. Zack Powell Stadium. If there is inclement weather, it will be held in the auditorium.

Washington will hold graduation Sunday, May 19, at 3 p.m. at the Washington Event Center.

Purcell letter carriers will “Stamp Out Hunger” by collecting canned food donations from households on their mail routes Saturday, May 11.

To help “Stamp Out Hunger,” fill a plastic bag with canned food donations and place it by your mailbox Saturday, May 11, before your letter carrier arrives.

Most needed items include canned meats, meat-based soups, canned fruits, canned vegetables, peanut butter, and rice and beans.

A car seat distribution event will be held Thursday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First United Bank, 324 W. Main St., in Purcell.

Nationally certified technicians will be on-site providing assistance with car seat installation.

Free car seats and booster seats will be available to available families.

The last day of school in the Heart of Oklahoma is quickly approaching.

Crosswalks and neighborhood streets will be filled with children celebrating the beginning of summer.

The message is simple: Mortorists - Put down the phone, stay alert and watch out for these precious, vulnerable children.

The Purcell Register will be closed on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day.

The office will be open at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning and all deadlines will remain the same.

This is a family favorite and so easy.

Rhonda Casserole

1 diced onion

1 can Ranch Style Beans

1 can of enchilada sauce

1 can of cream of mushroom soup

1/2 cup picante sauce

2 cups cheese

Bag of small Fritos

Preheat oven to 350°.

Cook hamburger and onion together. Mix together all other ingredients except Fritos.

Place Fritos in the bottom of a 9x13 pyrex dish. Top with hamburger mixture and cheese.

Bake for about 30 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.
