Alex Fields is quite the baker!!

He was so nice to drop by with several containers of goodies that he shared with me. And Grant Frankenberg came in to renew his subscription and it was his lucky day because he was the recipient of some as well!

What a treat to be given some home-baked goods and delivered to my doorstep to boot!

Thanks Alex!!

With the weather getting cooler, it makes me want to make some comfort food. Try this recipe!

Slow-Cooker Cowboy Stew

2 lbs. boneless stewing beef, cut into 2x1-inch pieces

2 Tbsp. each flour and chili powder

2 carrots, sliced

1 onion, chopped

3 stalks celery, sliced

1 cup frozen corn

15.5 oz. can kidney beans, rinsed

16 oz. jar chunky salsa

1 cup water

1/4 cup barbecue sauce

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Cook meat, in batches, in large nonstick skillet on medium heat until evenly browned, stirring occasionally; spoon into slow cooker. Add flour and chili powder; mix well.

Add all remaining ingredients except cheese; stir. Cover with lid. Cook on low 6 to 8 hours.

Serve topped with cheese.
