Purcell closed out the 2020 football season with a 49-7 loss at Washington last Friday.

Purcell’s lone score came in the third quarter on a 65-yard pass from Kody Kroth to Mojo Browning.

Purcell finished at 5-5.

“I thought (Jaysen) Shea played pretty well,” Purcell Head Coach Tracy Scott said. “Defensively, Creed (Smith) and (Sam) Wofford played well.

“They are just good up front,” the coach continued. “They have five guys that don’t play any defense. They’re pretty big and we just had problems getting off their blocks.”

Overall, Scott said he was sorry a couple of the really close games didn’t go our way.

“But, I’m proud of our kids,” he said. “Every game, whether we won or lost, our kids never quit. They played hard. We had a good run at the end and I’m proud of their effort.”
