Carolyn Rae Cavnar, 64, passed away peacefully in her home in Purcell recently. She was born on July 12, 1958, in Beaumont, Texas, to Corry and Richard “Gene” Raley.
After graduating from Vidor High School in 1976, she started her career and met Thomas Cavnar. On August 24, 1984 they were married in Texas and moved to Oklahoma shortly after having their son Kenneth.
Carolyn loved Purcell and retired from the Department of Corrections (LARC) after 20 years of service. Anyone who knew her knew two things about her: She loved fishing and was ALWAYS ready to go eat Mexican food. She also carried a joy and kindness about her that resonated when you spoke with her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sisters, Linda and Patricia.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth and wife, Deaven; furbaby, Peanut; grandcat, Raven; granddog, Iris; sister, Brenda and husband, Ronald; brother, Ricky and wife, Kristy, and many other loving family members.
The family will be having a private family event to celebrate Carolyn’s life.
