Graveside services for Carlene Rushton, 69, of Oklahoma City were held Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Lexington Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mrs. Rushton passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020.

Carlene Kay Beason was born November 24,1950 in Purcell, the baby of four children born to Carl Horace Beason and Mildred Audine (Pitts) Beason. She was raised in Lexington and attended Lexington Schools. While in school, Carlene was a standout athlete, excelling in basketball and softball for the Lady Bulldogs. She married young to John Long, and to this union, a daughter Kim was born.

Carlene began working at Western Electric. Carlene worked there for more than 32 years, as it became AT&T and eventually Lucient Technologies. On May 25, 1973, Carlene married her best friend and life partner, Michael Sherman Rushton, and they welcomed a son, Kelly to the family.

Carlene and Michael were inseparable, and the perfect couple. They retired together in 2001 with a combined 67 years of work experience. In retirement, they enjoyed traveling the United States, and following the NASCAR circuit. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend, She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Rushton; grandson, Michael Vann; brother, Roy Beason and her parents, Carl and Mildred Beason.

Carlene is survived by her daughter, Kim Williams and husband, Jim, of Oklahoma City; son, Kelly Rushton and wife, Tiffani Frieszel, of Oklahoma City; brother, Cap Beason and wife, Johnnie, of Lexington; sister, Joeann Dodd and husband, Bobby, of Lexington; grandsons, Matthew Vann, Jacob Vann and Jordan Rushton, all of Oklahoma City; three great-granddaughters, Avalynn, Cordelia and October; special nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
