Posted

Starting back in 2021, a young athlete named Delanie Wartchow started her journey on the mat and has since fallen in love with the sport of wrestling.

In the past two years she has won two state titles back-to-back with the Oklahoma Kids Wrestling Association, one as the 2023 6u girls 52 pound champion and this year as the 2024 8u girls 54 pound champion.

Under the coaching guidance of her father and the Noble Takedown Club, her record this year is 46-4 in the girls division.

Delanie Paige Wartchow is now an eight-year-old that attends Purcell Elementary in Mrs. Shari Wilhoit’s second grade class.

Delanie is a Purcell native born to Cole and Alyssa Wartchow, granddaughter to Kevin and Carla Rhoads as well as Tanya Andrews.

Delanie says she hopes some day she can wrestle as a Purcell Dragon.

Her dream is to go to college for wrestling and then the Olympics.
