Lexington ended its fast-pitch softball season losing both games last Thursday in Regional Tournament play at Chisholm.

The Lady ‘Dawgs lost to the Chandler Lady Lions, 2-1, and the Class 3A No. 7 Chisholm Lady Longhorns, 3-0.

Chandler scored first with a run in the bottom of the third inning. Lexington tied the game in the top of the seventh with a solo home run by catcher Maddy Pack, who had two hits in the game.

But, the Lady Lions won the contest on an RBI single. The Lady ‘Dawgs were held to four hits in the game as Chloe Burk had a double and Cora Vazquez connected for a single.

Burk pitched for Lexington, going 6 1/3 innings. She allowed six hits and two earned runs while walking four and striking out one against Chandler. Lex committed two errors in the game.

In the tilt with Chisholm, the Lady Longhorns scored all of their runs in the bottom of the first. Even though Lexington out-hit Chisholm, 7-6, and committed just one error, the Lady ‘Horns were able to capitalize on a three-run home run.

Abby Turnpaugh turned in an overall fine performance. She had two singles at the plate and went the distance inside the pitcher’s circle, hurling six innings. She struck out two and didn’t allow a walk.

Maddy Pack had a single while Burk went 3-for-3 with two singles and a double against the Lady ‘Horns.

Chisholm (32-7) advanced to the Class 3A state tournament and will face the No. 2 Washington Lady Warriors (35-4) at 4 p.m. today at The Ball Fields at Firelake in Shawnee.

Lexington, after making the 2019 state tourney, ended the 2020 season with an 11-16 record.
