Ramona (Mayo) Wright died May 28, 2023, in Norman, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years 2 months 17 days. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Ramona was born March 11, 1938, in Dibble, Oklahoma, to Raymond and Lois (Stevens) Mayo. After the death of her father, Lois married Carl Raymond Thompson, and the family made their home in Lexington.
In 1955, Ramona married Jerry Wright. She was a care giver and worked many years in nursing homes as a Certified Medication Aide and Nurse Aide. Ramona enjoyed camping, fishing and crocheting. She loved spending time with her family at every opportunity.
Ramona was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Mayo; her parents, Raymond and Lois Thompson; her husband, Jerry Wright; her sons, Jerry Lynn Wright and Dorsey Allen Wright; her grandson, Mathew Allan Sims, Jr.; and her siblings, Darrell Ray Thompson, Don Thompson and Mary Farmer.
Survivors include her daughter, Marcia King of Purcell; her son, Tim Wright and wife, Jennifer, of Chickasha; her daughter, Debbie Biffle and husband, Steve, of Duncan; her son, Todd Wright and wife, Heather, of Midwest City; her son, Caleb Dane Wright of Oklahoma City; her 10 grandchildren, Joshua, Tiffany, Heather, Stephanie, Timmy, Rachelle, Austin, Jayson, Beau, Arianna; her 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
