Mistie was born February 4, 1974, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Lance Dale and Dulcy (Humphrey) Sargent.

Her journey began in the embrace of Lexington, where she flourished and received her diploma from Lexington High School in 1992. Embarking on a joyous union with Brian Townsend straight out of her high school days, they were blessed with the gifts of Victoria, Brian and Kaydence.  Subsequently embracing a new chapter with Monty Jensen in 2009, Mistie and Monty blended their family and nestled into the warmth of their shared abode within the Lexington community.

She traversed various professional avenues starting as a dedicated CNA post-graduation, eventually finding her niche as a meticulous tax preparer. Never ceasing to radiate compassion and goodwill, Mistie’s spirit found solace in church, where she ardently devoted herself to youth ministry. Her church homes include McKiddyville Church in Slaughterville, as well as in the past with Sanctuary Church in Lexington.

Her altruistic endeavors knew no bounds as she championed initiatives such as Feed The Children and spearheaded numerous non-profits aimed at uplifting children and families.  A beacon of positivity and generosity, Mistie was renowned for her unwavering dedication to giving back to the community and advocating for those in need, particularly children. Her expansive heart enveloped not only her cherished kinfolk but also extended to her church family—a testament to her boundless capacity for love and connection.

Mistie was preceded in death by her mother, Dulcy Sargent; her stepmother, Edyth Sargent; and the father of her children, Brian Townsend.

Survivors include her father, Lance Sargent; her husband, Monty Jensen; her children, Victoria Melton and Bobby, Brian Townsend, Kaydence Townsend, Fay Jensen, Rick Jensen and Jesse Jensen; her grandchildren, Brooklynn Melton, Braelynn Melton and Willie Melton; her siblings, Lance Sargent, Jr., Walter Sargent, Cristie Cutting and Jeff, and Jenny Meigs and Eric; her best friend, Leslie Washam; her church family, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
