A Ninnekah man was killed on US-177 at SH 59 last Thursday morning.

That was one of three highway deaths in McClain County over last weekend.

A 29-year-old Blanchard woman and the sheriff of Tillman County were also killed on county roads, both on Saturday.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Prescott E. Sims, 45, of Ninnekah was driving his 2023 Mercedes Sprinter Van northbound on 177 when for an unknown reason the vehicle crossed over into the southbound lanes and struck a southbound 2016 Dodge Ram pickup, driven by Justin W. Green, 43, of Seminole.

The OHP reported Sims was pinned for approximately one hour before being extricated by the Stratford Fire Department using the Hurst tool.

Sims was transported to Ada Memorial Hospital by Stratford EMS where he was later pronounced dead from head, internal trunk and external trunk injuries.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Pittman of the McClain County detachment of Troop A, Lt. Moler of Troop A, Trooper Conway of the Traffic Homicide Unit and Trooper Byrne of Troop A, with assistance from Lighthorse Police Department, Wadley’s EMS, Stratford EMS, Byars Fire Department, Stratford Fire Department and Air Evac.

The OHP reported Raquel Anderson, 29, of Blanchard was killed in a three vehicle accident north of Blanchard just after 1 p.m. Friday on North Council Avenue and Windmill Avenue.

She was driving a 2017 Hyundai Sonata when it and two other vehicles collided.

A 2012 Honda Accord driving by Alias Soudry, 19, of Oklahoma City and a 2015 Cherolet Silverado, driven by Lewis Metcalf, 69, of Blanchard were also involved, according to the patrol.

Soudry and a seven-year-old female from Blanchard were both treated and released for injuries from the accident.

McClain County Sheriff Landy Offolter reported Tillman County Sheriff William “Bill” Ingram, 50, was killed in an accident on SH 9 and May Avenue at 8:33 p.m. Saturday.

He was driving a 2007 Yamaha motorycle on SH 9 when it and a 2022 Honda Pilot driven by John Lyons, 45, of Duncan collided.

Newcastle Police Chief Gary Norman said investigators do not have a narrative of what happened at this time because his department is waiting on assistance from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol on a reconstruction of the collision.

A Celebration of life service is pending with Jackson Funeral Home in Frederick. A funeral home spokesperson said arrangements will be announced when they are finalized.

Fourth District Congressman Tom Cole issued a statement after the sudden death of Ingram.

“I am very sad to hear that Tillman County Sheriff Bill Ingram, who bravely served our community for many years, unexpectedly passed away,” Cole said Sunday. “My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones. May Bill rest in peace.”
