Bulldogs annihilate Holdenville, 72-47

Posted

Lexington had more points in the first half than Holdenville ended up with after four complete quarters in a lopsided 72-47 season opening cage contest.

The ‘Dawgs had three players ring up double digit scoring led by junior Ezra Faulkenberry’s 18 point game.

He canned three from downtown, a number matched by Ty Mixon who finished with 11 total points. Sophomore Drew Dierking finished with 15 points.

The red-hot shooting Bulldogs poured in 29 points in the first quarter alone and eventually fashioned a 48-22 bulge at halftime.

“We shot the ball really well in the first half and really ran the floor well,” head coach Derek Clark said.

“We got a little sloppy in the second half and turned it over too much.”

Clark got scoring from 11 different players in the season opening scoring frenzy.

“It was an all around great team effort and a nice way to start the year. I’m proud of our players and staff,” Clark concluded.

The Bulldogs travel to Pauls Valley next Tuesday.
