Dragons roughed up

Posted

Tecumseh had to wait a day to travel to Purcell due to rain but pounced on the Dragons 12-2 in a run-rule victory last Wednesday.

Karson Jennings knocked in both Purcell runs, slamming a home run in the bottom of the first and picking up her second RBI in the bottom of the third.

But it was the top of that frame where Tecumseh did the most damage pushing across six of their 12 runs.

Kinley Croslin, Hannah Buchanan, Missy Nimsey and Khia Tyler all had a hit.

Dale pinned a 12-1 loss on the Dragons Monday.

Purcell’s only hits were by Jennings and Lauren Holmes.

“We are going through phases where our hitting is on but defense is not or defense is on but stringing hits together isn’t there. In the playoffs we have to put it together,” head coach Sarah Jones said.

Latta defeated Purcell 7-1 when the Dragons were limited to three hits.

Purcell was scheduled to play Pauls Valley Tuesday and host Piedmont today (Thursday).

They are scheduled to play at Davis next Monday.

Purcell is 7-11 this season.
