Dragons losing four seniors

Posted

Head Dragon Coach Cole Sharp put a wrapper around the end of the 2021 baseball season.

“I thought our guys finished strong and I was proud of the way we competed the last two weeks of our season.

“We played Newcastle tough in districts,” the coach said.

“I thought Brodrick Smith pitched well in game one and Zach Idlett started game two.”

Nate Willis came in relief for game two and pitched well to get the victory.

“Cade Smith and Dayton Smith were in relief and competed on the mound. I thought we hit the ball well,” Sharp said.

Creed Smith, Nate Willis, Jorge Munoz, Dayton Smith and Cade Smith all had good at bats through districts,” Sharp confirmed.

The Dragons will lose four seniors including Jayden Payne, Cade Smith, Dayton and Gavin Constant, who was out all year with an injury.

“I was proud of our seniors' way they finished the season.  They will be missed.

“We will have a lot of experienced guys coming and some young guys coming up as well to help out in the future,” Sharp concluded.
