Purcell’s 2021 slow-pitch softball season came to an end at Sulphur in the District Tournament when the Lady Dogs pinned 13-10 and 12-0 losses on the Dragons.

Purcell jumped out to a 6-2 lead after the first two innings in the opening game of the best of three but Sulphur answered with nine run third that was the catalyst for their victory.

Kinley Croslin had the big stick for Purcell in the game slamming a grand slam home run and swatting a two run double in a 2-2 outing.

Hannah Buchanan went 3-3 and Missy Nimsey was 3-4 with an RBI.

Purcell went hitless in the second game.

Lexington knocked off the Dragons earlier in the week, 18-9.

Buchanan had a home run and a double in a 3-5 performance at the plate.

Croslin was also 3-4 with an RBI.

Kailynn Helton went 2-2 with an RBI while Madison Veach had an RBI in a 2-4 day at the plate. Nimsey was a perfect 3-3 and knocked in two RBIs.

Kaylee Stephens and Kaylee Evans also both had hits as the Dragons pounded out 18 as a team.

Purcell finished the season 6-22.
