Purcell high School graduates Reuben Leveridge and Jaiden Avila had strong showings in the USA Powerlifting Wild Hog Throwdown.

Avila, a 2022 Purcell graduate, won first place in her division and set a state record in the squat with a weight of 247.5 pounds. Her combined lift for squat, bench and dead lift was 621.5 pounds.

Leveridge, a 2020 Purcell graduate, also won his division.

He took first with a combined total of 860 pounds for the three lifts.

His dead lift was 408 pounds.
