Since coming back from winter break the Bulldog wrestlers have lugged home individual hardware in tournaments at Pauls Valley, Tuttle and the Midwestern Conference Tourney.

Connor Wesson was fourth in the 182 pound class at Pauls Valley.

Dalton Matthews finished third in the 170 class at Pauls Valley, third at Tuttle and third at the Midwestern meet.

Matthews is 28-7 this season.

Brady Rillema, who is 23-12 this year, was fourth at 195 pounds at Pauls Valley and fourth at the Midwestern Conference Tournament.

Lexington’s Lady Bulldogs are having a top notch season.

Cillee Turner won the Pauls Valley Junior High Tournament and the conference meet.

Elexas Collins won her weight division at Pauls Valley and was fourth at the conference competition.

Izzy Pack was named the Outstanding Wrestler while winning the Bethel Junior High Tournament. She also won the conference meet and finished second at Pauls Valley.

Wrestling for the high school, Kaylie Brannan grappled her way to third at Pauls Valley and was fourth at the Midwestern Conference Tourney.

Coach Jared Garrett reports the final dual of the season will be today (Thursday) at 1 p.m.

“After that we will prepare for the Regional Tournament the weekend of February 21-22.

“We are having a great start to a new era of girls wrestling,” Garrett continued. “We have some girls that are excited to compete. I look forward to watching it grow.

“As of right now, I believe we are set up to have two or three State Qualifiers,” Garrett said.

“Dalton Matthews and Brady Rillema were both one match away last year. Senior Colton Turner has come a long way since last season. He has worked hard and is competing well.”

The coach is hoping to get Turner in at 152 pounds.
