Mr. Hooper passed away in Muskogee on October 5, 2024.
Terry Dale Hooper was born in Ada, Okla., to Homer T Hooper and Mary Francis Hooper (Thurman) on June 18, 1952.
His family made their home in Purcell where he attended school and graduated with the Dragon Class of 1971. Terry was employed in the oil field, worked for Robertson’s Steel Company, Witt’s Tire Shop in Purcell, and finally he spent 27 years working for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in road maintenance.
During his retirement Terry worked in home healthcare for several years. When he wasn’t working, he loved FISHING. His happiest times were spent on or by the water with a rod and reel in hand.
He also umpired little league games, enjoyed bowling, and doting on his fur babies Coco and Moe. He was a beloved husband, father, brother and fisherman who will be dearly missed!
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Mary Hooper, and his brother, Larry Hooper.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hooper of the home; his daughter, Shelly Schwein and husband, Daniel, of Aubrey, Texas; his stepsons, Phillip Newville of Eufaula, Okla., and Paul Mayer of Purcell, Okla.; his siblings, Jerry Hooper and wife, Beth, of Meeker, Okla., and Rene Sparlin and husband, Randy, of Lexington, Okla. Terry also leaves behind four beloved grandkids, Tyler, Hunter, Zoey and Ethan.
