Goldsby Firefighters, the McClain County Sheriff’s Department and the Oklahoma Highway all responded to a series of traffic accidents on I-35 last Thursday morning around mile marker 103.
Goldsby Fire Chief Earl Jenkins reported there were no injuries but a total of six vehicles were involved.
Jenkins said drivers were going too fast for the rainy conditions and some of the accidents were caused from drivers gawking and not paying attention.
“They would look to see what they could. Then a vehicle in front of them would slow down then they would have to swerve to miss them and end up in the mud or hitting the cable barrier,” Jenkins told The Purcell Register.
The first of many calls came in at 9:54 a.m.
