I wish the bleeding hearts in Hollywood and those members of Congress that are so down on living in this country would listen to the thousands and thousands of World Cup soccer fans visiting here from all parts of the globe.
These are just ordinary folks from around the world that can’t believe how great this country really is.
Some of us are proud to celebrate our 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Some of us stand up for the flag and cover our hearts when the National Anthem is played.
Some try to instill patriotism over knit picking politics where we seemingly cannot agree on anything.
The simple things that we take for granted have been the talk of the visiting sports fans, like them discovering ranch dressing. Some are even taking it back to their home countries.
The visitors are amazed at Walmart, of all things.
One fan referred to a Walmart store, saying it was like walking into a museum.
The visiting World Cup fans have expressed amazement at the country’s scale, warm hospitality and wild food culture.
Many of them have been tearing down the left negative-media stereotypes and raving at their time spent here.
It was hilarious watching soccer fans from Scotland literally drink Boston pubs dry of their frosty brews.
It forced pub owners to make emergency calls to their beer suppliers to restock the suds.
The thirsty Scots completely drank up all the Boston Lager at the downtown Samuel Adams taproom.
A friend of ours, who is actually from Boston, said the fun they are having is infectious and that he’s having a great time just sitting back to watch and listen to them party.
Maybe some of our disgruntled citizens should sip on a little bit of ale.
It might improve their bellyaching and stop from being so crabby.
Purcell kicks off the July 4th celebration this Friday night.
That gives us a full week to celebrate 250 years.
Go Red, White and Blue!
