When I first turned on the tube Tuesday morning while getting ready for work, the first words I heard were Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
What a way to start your day.
It made me think of a recent editorial cartoon I saw.
Most everyone knows the story of Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, two NASA astronauts whose eight-day mission to the International Space Station (ISS) is being extended by almost eight months due to mechanical issues on their spacecraft.
The cartoon showed the two astronauts up in the ISS and the caption read, “At least we’re missing election season.”
Although I’m glad I’m not stuck in space, I wish I was missing the election season as well.
I’ve never been a fan of politics and in particular campaigns for president.
But by osmosis, I get more political information than I can shake a stick at.
And Tuesday night was to be a debate between the two candidates.
Oh joy.

The last couple of weeks, the weather men have been raving about how much cooler it is.
I can tell you it’s not that cool. I’ve been in the stands during the five o’clock hour for a couple of seventh grade football games and when you’re in the sun and facing west it still feels like summer.
My shirt got so hot it was burning my skin earlier this week.
I certainly hope cooler fall temperatures arrive sooner than later.
