McClain County Election Board Secretary Karen Haley reported after the hand recount September 5 of the ballots in the race for the Republican nomination nothing changed.
The election was certified August 30 with Johnathan Wilk defeating Mike Whaley, 1,673-1,668.
“The recount showed the machines didn’t miss a single ballot,” Haley said.
The recount was called and paid for by Whaley.
Wilk will face Democrat Mitchel Jacob in the General Elecion for the seat at the State Capitol.
