Available to Purcell students

Purcell Public Schools is pleased to provide students with a Summer Feeding Program again this year.

This program is designed to ensure Purcell students continue to receive nutritious meals while school is out of session.

Both on-site dining and convenient pick-up locations are available throughout the community.

Summer Feeding began June 1 and will continue through July 31, Monday through Friday.

Meals will be served in a group setting at the Purcell Elementary School Cafeteria with breakfast from 7:30-9:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Students attending Summer School will eat at this site through the conclusion of their program. Afterward, they are welcome to continue at this site or transition to a con-congregate pick-up location. Students may not participate in both locations.

“We will also provide an option for meal pick-ups each Wednesday, June 10, 17 and 24 and July 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29,” Purcell Superintendent Dr. Sheli McAdoo said.

Pick up sites include:

• Creekside Bluff, 3000 S. 9th Ave., 9-10 a.m.

• Southway Mobile Home Park, 3 Elliot Drive, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

• Hallmark Estates, 501 Hallmark Blvd., 12:15-1:15 p.m.

• Old Junior High School, 201 Lester Lane, 1:45-2:45 p.m.

No meals will be served on Friday, July 3, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

“I strongly encourage families to take advantage of the Summer Feeding Program. It is great for our students as a way to fight childhood hunger,” Dr. McAdoo said. “Please plan to take advantage of this opportunity.”
