May weather for the birds

May took a little longer to get started this year but it’s making up for lost time, weather-wise.

When you think about tornadoes May 2 or 3 come to mind right off the bat.

But in 2025, we didn’t get off to the start of severe weather season until May 17.

May is one of those months where you hear the term “long-track” from time to time.

Over a week ago at a little league baseball game, I was attacked by a covey of mosquitoes and the resulting red bumps on my skin will not go away.

I’m calling them long-track mosquito bites. Who would have thought?

However, the threat of inclement weather has organizer Jay Tate prepared to move the event to the Purcell Multi-Purpose Building if need be.

Stay tuned, Tate said, to his Facebook page.
