Purcell Elementary School Pre-K registration and Kindergarten Round-Up for the 2024-2025 school year was available Friday, March 1.

The McClain County Sheriff’s Office Blood Drive, sponsored by The City of Purcell and First United Bank, will be held Wednesday, March 20.

The blood drive will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First United Bank, 324 W. Main St., in Purcell.

All donors will receive a “Lotto Pot O’Gold” scratcher and could win a $100 or $200 Visa Gift Card of other prizes.

Let the Mobile Maker Lab Team help you make beautiful things! Learn to use the 3D printers, laser cutters, embroidery machines and more.

The Maker Lab will be open Tuesday, March 12, from 1-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, March 14, from 1-5 p.m., Friday, March 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, March16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The program is for all ages.

The Heart of Oklahoma Kiwanis Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, March 30, at the Purcell Lake Weaver Pavilion, 1400 Chandler Road.

Each age group will have their own hunt and prizes. Age groups include 0-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12.

The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures.

The hunt begins at 9:30 a.m. sharp.

This is so good and doesn’t take a long time to prepare.

Crockpot White Chicken Chili

1 lb. chicken breast

1 white onion, diced

2 cans White Northern Beans

1 can whole kernel corn

10 oz. can Rotel

1 tsp. garlic powder

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. black pepper

1 tsp. cumin

1 tsp. chili powder

1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper

32 oz. container of chicken broth

8 oz. block of cream cheese

1/4 cup half & half or heavy cream

In a bowl combine salt, pepper, cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper, garlic powder and stir.

Place chicken breasts into the bottom of your slow cooker.Sprinkle seasonings over the chicken

Drain the beans and corn. Top with onion, drained beans, drained corn and Rotel.

Add the entire container of chicken broth to the slow cooker.

Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until chicken is fork tender.

Remove chicken and shred with forks. Return chicken to slow cooker. Add in cream cheese and half & half. Cook another 15 minutes on high and serve with your favorite toppings!
