Purcell residents are going to get a head start on the July 4th holiday with fireworks, food trucks and more planned for Friday June 26.

Interim City Manager Bobby Elmore reported at a recent city council meeting that the fireworks display this year will be double what past shows have provided.

The Chickasaw Nation’s honor guard will present the colors at 7 p.m. followed by the singing of the National Anthem.

Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Elisabeth Baker reports there will be eight food and beverage trucks with the fireworks at the city lake.

The fireworks show is ticketed to begin at 9:45 p.m.

There will be additional information in next week’s Purcell Register.
